Dr. Nelson is a compassionate and caring veterinarian that has lived in Cobb county for 40 years. He attended Kennesaw State University for undergrad and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992. Upon graduation, he received the awards for Exceptional Proficiency in both large and small animal medicine and surgery. Since then, he has striven to provide high quality veterinary medicine and surgery to the dogs and cats of Cobb County and surrounding areas. Dr Nelson is a member of the AVMA, GVMA, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. He has a certificate in small animal abdominal ultrasound with a focus in soft tissue diagnostics in addition to a certificate in advanced life support and CPR. His interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, surgery, ultrasound, and emergency medicine.
Dr. Nelson and his wife, Adrienne have 4 children, John, Sarah, Jason, and Maria. They also have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 horses. In his spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with his family, anything to do with computers, listening to music, and occasional blogging.
