Our History

At Mills Animal Hospital, our goal is to provide the highest quality veterinary care with the utmost compassion and commitment. We strive to make our patients and clients part of our extended family while helping pets live long, happy, and healthy lives.

At Mills Animal Hospital, we're bilingual (English and Spanish) and our team is committed to professional, caring, and personalized service while working in an open, fun, and family-oriented environment."

Where We Started

Mills Animal Hospital was a dream dreamt by a little 4-year-old Michelle Mills. That dream grew into a goal of providing quality patient care with the utmost love and compassion in a fun, family-oriented environment, with a team of experts that would be like an extended family to Dr. Mills. In July 2017, that dream came true, and Dr. Mills' hopes and goals for the practice have continued to be fulfilled, far exceeding her original vision.

Where We’ve Been

Being involved in the community is extremely important to Mills Animal Hospital. We have joined up with Pickets Mill Elementary School as a Partner in Education and sponsored Allatoona and North Paulding Sports Teams.

We host an annual open house and fall festival each October to celebrate our community and extended family. We offer food, Halloween costume contests, activities for kids, a petting zoo, a photo booth, occasional vaccine clinics, and so much more.

Supporting kids in our community is also important to us. We have teddy bear surgery demonstrations for which our young pupils "scrub in" to perform surgery and help their fuzzy patients feel better. Many kids leave these events saying they want to be vets when they grow up, and we're happy to guide them on that path!

Additionally, Mills Animal Hospital helps local shelters by providing essential care to their animals and making them more adoptable.

Our Award-Winning Team

We are humbled to be the recipients of some very special awards, with Dr. Michelle Mills obtaining the UGA Distinguished Alumni Wellness in Practice Award, and our hospital winning the Best in Georgia (Veterinary Practice) award in 2023.

Where We’re Headed

If you have brought your pet in any time recently, you will have noticed the slightly longer wait times for exam rooms and crowding in the front lobby. We heard your frustrations and have recently added two new exam rooms to help reduce wait times. Additionally, Dr. Mills has been spending all of the "extra" time that she has, purchasing property, designing, and meeting with all the right people to help make this new dream come true. This new building will help us branch out and offer our clients and our patients even better quality medicine!

We surprise ourselves every year with the overwhelming support and feedback that we receive from the community. We cannot wait to see what the next years bring!
